Christmas Projects

Happy New Year!

Yes, I know Christmas has been and gone, but I wanted to share a few things I made before Christmas – you may just get some ideas for other projects. This card is made using the Designer Rosette die and Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper, and I added a little tag made using the Merry Christmas stamp from Tiny Tags. The tag makes it a neat Christmas card, however it can be used for any occassion by changing or omitting the tag altogether! I made the doiley by using the Paper Doiley Sizzlits L die, and cutting it down to size. To hold the rosette together I used the Silicone Mat and a hot glue gun, and even attached the rosette to the card with hot glue! We made this card as one of the projects for my stamp clubs, and some of the girls attached the rosette by just using a little dotto and attaching some Bakers Twine to the rosette to make it into a detachable Christmas ornament!

I had great visions of making several of these for Christmas decorations, but only managed to get the one made! While we were manning our stand at the Albany Agricultural Show back in November, I fiddled and made this little “vintage” looking bird from some felt cut with the Elegant Bird die, Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, Victoria Crochet Trim, Seam Binding and Antique Brads! A little stiching with some embroidery thread, and some stuffing, and there you have a heirloom Christmas decoration! Make several and make a gorgeous mobile perhaps?

Hi Cathy. Love your card and Christmas decoration. I thought I could live without that bird die but I think you’ve convinced me otherwise. Just love it in the red felt with the tulle, crochet trim and brad. It’s ‘pinned’. :)
