Duo Coloured Jumbo Cartridges

by cathy on December 27, 2008

Back in September we had our Stampin’ Up! Regional Seminar in Perth, and I demonstrated how to ink up an uninked jumbo Stampin’ Around cartridge using 2 colours! The card I demonstrated was using the Something Fishy jumbo wheel, and stamps from Life’s a Breeze and Whale Wishes.

When you open an uninked jumbo cartridge, you’ll notice the foam roller is made up of 2 cells. Perfect! Carefully ink one side with one colour ink refill of your choice, turning the wheel with the tip of the reinker as you go, careful not to overload the cartridge otherwise the ink will pool in the housing. Carefully ink the other side with a different co-ordinating colour of your choice. Place the cartridge into the handle, then click in the wheel, and roll out onto scrap paper first. Don’t forget to write the colours onto the cartridge label, and store the cartridge in a sealed container for future use.
For my Something Fishy card, I used Taken with Teal and Night of Navy in the ink cartridge, and stamped it onto Confetti White cardstock. I cut along the wave tops and layered it onto Taken with Teal cardstock for the base card. I tore a strip of So Saffron cardstock, on which I spritzed “sand” using the Spritzer Tool and So Saffron marker. I think I also sponge daubed along the torn edge. For the whale, I inked him up in Taken with Teal then rockin’ rolled the edges in Night of Navy, and carefully cut around the outline leaving a 2mm margin. The sun was done in the same way, but using So Saffron and Rose Red.
My apologies for the poor picture – in my hast of making my cards up for the demonstration I forgot to scan them into my computer, so the pictures are the photos I took of my work once they were placed up on the display board after the demonstrations! I’ll post the others soon.
