Lif Me Up and Work of Art Card

This was the second card I threw together for our Stamp Club last week – yes, sometimes I do literally “throw together” cards! Getting up early in my job and working full time hours and often more I find I have little time to get organised for Stamp Club, so yes, these 2 cards were literally thrown together the night before! I first stamped the background in Soft Sky ink using the brush stamp from Work Of Art stamp set – I stamped this about 5 or 6 times down the front of the card, off setting each stamped image. I wanted to use the free Sale-a-Bration DSP “Carried Away” on this card, so I cut 3cm strips and tore each one diagonally to represent hills. These were next adhered to the card, then the clouds from Lift Me Up were stamped in Smoky Slate ink and the greeting stamped in Memento black ink. The black balloon was cut with the framelit and the colours behind the balloon are colours used in the DSP so then everything coordinated nicely. Again I used the sponge dauber and Tombow glue to apply the glue to the back of the balloon before placing the coloured card pieces on the back. Just a tip – start with the piece at the base of the balloon - then work your way up to the top of the balloon – you will find the pieces will fit just inside the balloon base and there will be a tiny border of the balloon left showing around the outside edges – this ensures all pieces fit together perfectly. Loving this set and the way it goes together!
