My Convention 2012 Swaps

by cathy on July 4, 2012

Yes, I know Convention has been and gone a month now – but I’ve been meaning to post pics of my swaps I made! This one’s another take on the Spirelli technique using the larger square of the Scallop Square Duo die, Artistic Etchings stamp set and lurex machine embroidery thread.

For something different I purchased a bit of homespun cotton and stamped with the Elements of Style stamp set and the Classic Stampin’ Pads. I heat set the ink with a dry iron before piecing the fabric with our Deck the Halls Designer Fabric, and stitching Pleated Satin Ribbon in Riding Hood Red over one of the seams. Filled with lavender, and tied with Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, then an easy tag made with Artistic Etchings and the Scallop Circle Punch….. I must admit my suitcase smelt good by the time it reached Canberra!

I must confess by the night before I left home for Perth I was doing my last minute usual and running out of time, but still with big intentions…..I quickly whipped up a few of these cards based on the technique I used to make my Miniature Elements of Style Screen!

I apologise fo r the quality of these photos – but they were taken either on the bed or the floor of our hotel room in Canberra!

Last but not least I made up some of these Apothecary Art Sticky Note Booklets! The top flap is embossed with Plenty a Petals embossing folder and the label is of course stamped using the Apothecary Art stamp set, cut using the framelits dies, and watercoloured with an Aqua Painter and the Classic Stampin’ Pads. A very simple gift idea!
