Butterfly Basics Card

by cathy on February 17, 2015

Butterfly Basics Card

Love this stamp set and framelits combo too! Although the colours don’t show up that well in the photo and do the card justice, the background is stamped in Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla card, and the edges sponged in Soft Suede. The script (from By the Tide – it’s the only current script stamp I have at the moment!), flower, strip and greeting were all stamped in Chocolate Chip, this was then layered onto Choc Chip card. The butterfly is also cut from Choc Chip card using the new Butterflies Thinlits dies from the Occasions Catalogue, and attached with small pieces of a Stampin’ Dimensional. Pretty card!

Valentine’s Owl Card

by cathy on February 14, 2015

Love You Valentine Card

How cute is this! Seeing as it would be Valentines Day (today), well, we just had to make a Valentines card! This is made using the Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP in the Sale-a-Brations Brochure, which you can choose for free if you place an order of $90 or more before shipping. The designs are gorgeous! I’ve made a mask using the 2 1/2″ circle punch from vellum and sponged over the surface of the card with Island Indigo and Night of Navy ink. Remove the mask and you have a crisp white moon! The owls are punched from Night of Navy cardstock using the Owl Builder punch, and the braches are from the Bird Builder punch. Love this DSP!

Little Bows Birthday Card

by cathy on February 14, 2015

Punched Bows Happy Birthday Card

Just to prove we did create something at Stamp Club last night, and didn’t spend the night chatting (it’s been a long time between Stamp Clubs!) - here are the cards we made! This one is made with the new Bow Builder Punch in the Occasions Catalogue on page 12. It’s such a quick and easy card! The DSP is from the Moonlight DSP Stack on page 185 of the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue, and I chose the sheets which coordinate with Blackberry Bliss cardstock. The measurements for the card are – half and A4 sheet of Blackberry Bliss folded in half for the base card, 10 x 14.2cm Whisper White for the front of the card, 8 x 9.5cm Black berry Bliss and 7.5 x 9cm Whisper White for the front panel. We stamped Happy Birthday from Itty Bitty Banners in Blackberry Bliss ink (pg 79 AC) onto Whisper White card scrap and cut it out with matching framelit from Bitty Banners (pg  230 AC) and adhered it to the front of the card – better to do this than to stamp directly onto the card in case it doesn’t stamp neatly! Super easy!

I’m Back & Stamp Club is Back for 2015!

by cathy on February 14, 2015

Oh dear, I didn’t realise it has been 6 months since I last posted anything on this blog of mine! How slack of me! Although I am still a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and still squeezing in my monthly Stamp Club, life has been keeping me pretty busy with my employment. I don’t know where time has been going, every month I have good intentions of posting something, or emailing a newsletter, but before I get around to it that month has gone and we’re into the next one! Oh well, I guess that’s life and the joys of working full time! Anyway, my Stamp Club resumed for 2015 last night. We had a break over January, as everyone seems to be in holiday mode after the Christmas festivities so we tend to skip the first month of the year. Welcome back to my stamp club ladies, old and new members, and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you very much for your support over the years – I think we are into our 6th year! If you live in Albany WA (or surrounding district) and would like to get creative with a bunch of fun, crafty ladies, please contact me for information. And to prove we did make something last night – here are some posts with photos……

Altered Matchbox

by cathy on July 30, 2014

Altered Matchbox Cover

Here’s another one of my altered projects – we made these little altered matchboxes in my July stamp club.

Altered Matchbox Clasp

For the clasp I used some retired Hodgepodge Hardware I had hoarded away in the cupboard (never get rid of anything that’s retired!)

Altered Matchbox Inside

The inside of the matchbox is embellished with whatever I had on hand to create my little theme – it’s fun sourcing little bits and pieces! The seahorse is stamped from card but suspended over a little piece of fine fishing net to make it 3D. Just love it – I’m going to have to make some more of these (but now I have a pile of loose matches!!)

Altered Mouse Traps

by cathy on July 30, 2014

Altered Mouse Traps

It seems like ages since I posted any of my creations, so I thought I’d better put up some pictures of my latest “altering” and re-purposing” that I’ve been getting into lately!

Here are mouse traps altered into magnetic clips for the fridge – we made these at our June stamp club. Basically, the trap arm and the bait clip are removed with pliers, then the edges of the wood are sponged with Soft Suede ink to give an antique look. The base is then decorated with Designer Series Paper and the whole thing is embellished with whatever takes your fancy! A hot glue gun makes it quick and easy to glue the bits and bobs into place.  A piece of magnetic sheet is glued onto the back of the trap, but use Tombow Mono Glue NOT hot glue or the magnet will be lumpy and won’t sit flat.

These would make great little gifts – guess what everyone’s getting for Christmas!
