Stamp ‘n’ Scrap Retreat News!

by cathy on October 20, 2009

We had a fantastic weekend for our Retreat! The weather was great, the venue was great, the food was great (even if I do say so myself!) and the company was great! Here’s a little about what we got up to….

The A Frame Chalet

We all arrived Friday afternoon, unpacked and settled in to our A Frame Chalet at The Cove Chalets in Denmark. There was soup in the crock pots and a crusty roll for those needing a light tea. Once everyone arrived we all got stuck into making Christmas cards and tags, right into the very wee hours of the morning!

Saturday morning after breakfast, we each stamped-a-stack of 15 cards (5 each of 3 designs) using Walk in the Park DSP as our base, and with coordinating colours. The stamp sets we used were great Friend, Fresh Cuts and Flower Fancy.

After lunch of  yummy cold chicken and salad, we made a cute carry case to house our cards. It was a very warm day of 34 degrees in Denmark, and we got everyone to “put down tools” and go for a short walk to the waters edge to clear our heads and get some fresh air!

After tea (sausages, rissoles, chicken satays and salads), we made a Scrapbook in an Evening using Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin’ Kit. The books were so lovely, and easy and fun to make!

Here’s a piccy of the girls hard at work – the photo is taken from one of the upstairs rooms!
On Sunday, after brekky, we finished off the weekend by making a “suitcase” to house the Christmas Cards & Tags which we made on Friday night. Our departure time of 12 noon came around really quickly, but everyone pitched in and helped pack up and tidy up! A huge thank you to my downline and friend Lorinda, for all her hard work, planning and preparation, and thank you to the ladies who attended and helped make our Retreat a memorable occassion! Thanks also to Wendy for bringing the awesome chocolate mud cake! Yummo!
We hope to see you all back again next year!

Thanks Cathy and Lorinda for a wonderful stamping reteat weekend.
Very well organized and a fantastic choice of venue, so peaceful!
Plenty of good food, drinks, coffee, laughs and great company.
I had a great time, really needed time out for me.
All I need now is some spare time to make more of the terrific projects we did.
